What Happens, Why It’s Important, and How to Pay for It All
Each year, COE hosts a four-part event known collectively as the COE Policy Seminar. This multi-day event includes a Leadership Summit to foster growth in our state and regional chapters among new and experienced college access and success professionals; the TRIO Alumni Leadership Forum, a one-day leadership and networking event designed to re-engage TRIO alumni; a Seminar on Relations with the U.S. Department of Education, which includes remarks from grant agency officials and programmatic roundtables; and a two-day advocacy session, officially titled the “Policy Seminar,” which features remarks by key Members of Congress, panels of legislative experts, and visits to Capitol Hill. The 2020 event will begin on Sunday, March 22 and conclude on Wednesday, March 25. Past participants have described the Policy Seminar as a life-changing event and one that truly drives home the reason why #TRIOWORKS. This webinar will provide an overview of the Policy Seminar and include remarks from experienced Policy Seminar participants who will describe how they prepare for themselves and their colleagues for this annual trip to Washington, DC – and even include tips on how to pay for it!
