LDTT: Enhance Impacts & Outcomes with Peer Mentoring -SSS
Research suggests that engagement and connections with peers benefit first-generation college students more than non-first-generation students. Such connections lead to greater educational and social gains which improves student success. Transitioning to college as a TRIO eligible student can be incredibly challenging. Creating spaces for connection and designing programming for students to build confidence and develop a sense of belonging is essential. In this webinar, TRIO professionals will learn to increase programmatic impacts for current SSS participants while addressing potential recruits' needs with a peer mentoring program. Join this webinar to hear from seasoned TRIO professionals on how they've used peer mentoring programs to support their students and reach program objectives. With a focus on shared experience, this 90-minute session will allow participants to break out into smaller groups to connect and reflect on implementing new programs and practices in peer mentoring.
